HELP! I was so excited after my doctor's appointment yesterday, but now I'm really nervous! I slept horrible last night, upset stomach (probably nerves) and my mind was racing. Did I make the right decision to have her induce me tomorrow morning? I think the reality of knowing when your baby is going to be born is worse than thinking it could happen at any moment. All you lady friends out there...I could use some encouragement! Whether I'm ready or not, I'm going to be a mom tomorrow!

Hey there Rachael! Wow, I can't believe it's so close :) The birth process, however uncomfortable, will be one of the most amazing moments in your life. It's kind of like your wedding - you want to relive it over and over again.
As far as induction goes, it's a really personal decision. You don't have to be induced just because you scheduled it. You can always call them and tell them you want to let it happen on its own. I'm a fan of letting nature take its course and knowing that my body and the baby's body is ready unless there is a medical reason to induce. Whatever you decide, remember that everything that happens in the hospital has to be okay with you and that at any point if you don't like what is happening, you have the power to stop it. We will be praying for you and can't wait to see pictures of your baby girl :)
Also, try to rest. Birth is so much easier if you aren't exhausted when you start! If at any point today you just want to chat, feel free to call or e-mail.
Rachael,
I'm really excited for you! I'm going to echo Kate's comments that if you aren't comfortable with the induction, just hold off. I promise that the baby will come out regardless! :o) Just make sure that you're comfortable with what you're doing. If you're nervous about your decision for induction that might not make for the most comfortable labor!
I'm praying for you and Matt and I can't wait to see pictures!
Love,
Kara
I just wanted to add that I hope I wasn't being at all discouraging. It doesn't really matter how the baby comes out as long as it does :) I know you and Matt will be fantastic parents. Ah self doubt... welcome to parenting!!!
no worries - i'm not offended easily and quite frankly will make my own decision about the birth of our little girl. i'm going to go through with the induction and take it as it comes. fortunately, they aren't giving me pitocin or anything - just breaking my water. so i feel better about that. anyways...thank you ALL for your advice and encouragement. everyone has their own birth experience and i can't wait for mine!
Awesome. Take lots of pictures and blog as soon as you are up for it :) Have a fantastic birth-day!
Rach-I'm starting to understand how you are feeling...I have 5 more days and I'll be in the same position you are. Anxiety isn't the start or end to my feelings either. It's so nerve racking to know when all this is supposed to happen. I know you'll do great and we'll be praying for you tomorrow. Just think...Grandma Lu will be there with you making sure this baby comes on her birthday so you know it won't last too long! Good luck and call me as soon as you feel well enough I'll have my cell on after 3:00!
