I Give Up

I'm a bed-maker.  Self-proclaimed.  And, as most bed-makers are, I'm also a tucker.  You know, I like my sheets and blanket tucked tightly in around all sides.  It makes me feel, well...tucked.  After four years of marriage, I have decided to give up my tucking - not my bed-making - just my tucking.  Matt is a self-proclaimed bed-messer and untucker.  Every day, I make the bed tightly and when we get into it at night, I do my best to sleep soundly in one position, so as not to disturb the nice tight tuck I've created.  Yet, in the morning, I wake up and our sheet and blanket have been yanked out (very deliberately), with cold feet hanging out the bottom.  So, today, I've decided to stop my griping, loathing, and inward bitterness toward the bed-messer untucker that resides in my home...in MY BED.  I give up...

I am now a self-proclaimed, bed-making untucker.

That's cute! I'm the untucker in our family, though I do like the bed made.

I can't believe it took you 4 years. I became and bed-maker, untucker after 6 months of marriage. :)

I could totally have written that myself! Ben claims to feel claustrophobic when the sheets are tucked in at the foot of the bed. So every night he makes a big show of flailing his feet around like a maniac, kicking and squirming, until both of us are lying there with everything below the knee exposed. Yet every morning, I tuck the sheets under again. Mainly because I hate how the bed looks with sheets peeking out. I have never tucked blankets. I'm sure that would irritate Ben to no end.

This was hilarious! Maybe you should get twin beds to put next to each other so you can each be happy with your own sheets. Nah, that's no fun.

My husband and I use two sets of blankets. I have given up the tuck as well!

I love you, honey! You all know that I made the bed today without tucking ANYTHING! (I think that is what inspired this blog - lol)

HA! This is so funny! I'm the claustrophic untucked one in our bed although JOhn doesn't really have that much of an opinion as long as it gets made the next day without sheets hanging out.
What does it say about me if I make the bed purposfully with the sheet shorter on the side you can see when you enter the room so I don;t have to tuck... not that I would ever do that... :-)

I can't relate, I can't stand the 'tucking'. I don't think I've ever made my bed without a fight my whole life. Jon is a neat freak and I'm the messy one. Our house shows that from time to time. When I work the weekend, it's amazing how all the laundry is done and the house is clean. I sure can't do that on my day off, I'm too busy having fun with the boys!
